Age Recommendations are given to use as a baseline; individual differences are taken into consideration (i.e. prior experience).  Due to water levels or other safety concerns, Raven Staff reserves the right to change river sections to insure the appropriateness of your trip.

Peak Runoff occurs on all rivers between late May and late June.  The highest water flow does not necessarily mean the best ride because many rapids "wash out" at high water.  May and June trips have higher water levels and a better chance of cooler temperatures and rain.  July and August trips are normally hot and sunny with normal water flows.

The Best Trip for you…
4If a wilderness trip sounds intriguing, the North Platte River, Class III-IV Whitewater is one of Colorado's best-kept secrets.  Designated a Wilderness Area, this river corridor offers wildlife like, cougars, bald eagles, river otters and elk, while also providing the ultimate downriver experience.

4If this is your first time rafting, are apprehensive about rafting, or have young children, then we would recommend the beautiful and mild Colorado River , Class II+ Whitewater.

4If you prefer thrilling whitewater, even if it’s your first time, the Arkansas River, Class III-IV-V whitewater is one of the most popular whitewater rafting runs in North America , there’s something for the whole family.

-The Cuisine for lunch on the North Platte River, is a deli delight, fresh from a local bakery; on the Colorado River you have hamburgers, hotdogs, salad, chips, lemonade and cookies; lunch on the Arkansas River consists of hamburgers, hotdogs, corn on the cob, salad, chips lemonade, cookies and cantaloupe.  Seasoned guides prepare downriver meals, bringing their individual favorites such as barbecue brisket; Dutch oven lasagna, even an extraordinary pizza for breakfast.
