Age Recommendations are given to use as a baseline; individual
differences are taken into consideration (i.e. prior experience).
Due to water levels or other safety concerns, Raven Staff reserves the
right to change river sections to insure the appropriateness of your trip.
Peak Runoff occurs on all rivers between late May and late
June. The highest
water flow does not necessarily mean the best ride because many rapids
"wash out" at high water. May
and June trips have higher water levels and a better chance of cooler
temperatures and rain. July and
August trips are normally hot and sunny with normal water flows.

Class III-IV Whitewater is
one of Colorado's best-kept secrets. Designated
a Wilderness Area, this river corridor offers wildlife like, cougars,
bald eagles, river otters and elk, while also providing the ultimate
downriver experience.

this is your first time rafting, are apprehensive about rafting, or have young
children, then we would recommend the beautiful and mild
Colorado River
, Class II+
Whitewater.

you prefer thrilling whitewater, even if it’s your first time, the Arkansas
River, Class III-IV-V whitewater is
one of the most popular whitewater rafting runs in
North America
, there’s something for the whole family.
-The Cuisine for lunch on the North
Platte River, is a deli delight,
fresh from a local bakery; on the Colorado River
you have hamburgers, hotdogs, salad, chips, lemonade and cookies; lunch on the
Arkansas River
consists of hamburgers, hotdogs, corn on the cob, salad, chips lemonade,
cookies and cantaloupe. Seasoned
guides prepare downriver meals, bringing their individual favorites such as
barbecue brisket; Dutch oven lasagna, even an extraordinary pizza for breakfast.
Dress in layers, in addition to a swimsuit,
wear clothes that dry quickly (stay away from cotton).
Bring a hat and sunglasses with string and waterproof suntan lotion.
Bring a change of clothes for after your trip.
Your rain gear is recommended! Jeans
are not recommended.
Wetsuits, booties and splash jackets
are
provided. Your comfort level is
important for enjoying this experience; not to mention you’re making a fashion
statement at no expense to you.
Sit-On-Top kayaks, the Perception Torrent,
is an open-top (no need to roll) kayak. Perfect
for floating a Class II rivers with ease, and Class III-IV with some
instruction. Extremely stable and
forgiving, the Torrent is a snap to control and surfs rapids like a dream.
